Project Idea

‘Adventure buddy’ is a fun app that brings together people who love hiking. It helps users find friends who enjoy outdoor adventures, fostering a sense of community and encouraging exploration of new hiking spots through group activities.

Challenge

Many hiking apps primarily focus on individual activities like saving trails and tracking personal hikes, which may not fully cater to the social aspect of hiking. Hikers may feel isolated and miss out on the opportunity to connect with others who share their interests.

Solutions

This app offers a more social approach to hiking, addressing the above problem in the following ways:

Connecting Hikers: It helps users connect with others who share their love for hiking, making it easy to find and make friends with like-minded people.
Group Adventures: Users can easily discover and participate in group hiking activities, promoting a sense of community and shared experiences.
Information Sharing: Beyond trail tracking, our app encourages users to share insights, tips, and recommendations, creating a collaborative environment for learning and exploration.
Real-Time Updates: Hikers stay informed about local hiking news, trail discoveries, and group events, enhancing their overall outdoor experience.

UX Design Process

I conducted a comprehensive survey and competitive analysis as part of the initial research phase for the UX design process. Additionally, I crafted user scenarios, user flows, and site maps to further inform and guide our research efforts.

I did user experience (UX) research to find out what important features were needed. Then, I came up with different design ideas, created basic layouts, and made sample designs. This experience helped me learn more about UX design and allowed me to create a user-friendly experience.
